PRESS RELEASES - NOVEMBER 2005
City Utilizes Website and Newspaper to Help Individuals Resolve
Outstanding Warrants
November 17, 2005
The City of Arlington has launched a public information campaign to
encourage people to resolve outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants.
The Municipal Court is utilizing the City of Arlington website at
www.ci.arlington.tx.us and the
Star-Telegram newspaper to publish the names of individuals with outstanding
Class C misdemeanor warrants covering 2004 and 2005. The lists will be
published in the Sunday, November 20, edition of the Star-Telegram. One list
includes the names of individuals who have failed to appear for a court
date. A second part includes the names of individuals who have appeared, but
did not satisfy an agreed upon judgment. Warrants for the years covering
2003 and prior are posted on the City of Arlington website at
www.ci.arlington.tx.us.
Public information materials in the newspaper and on the City’s website
provide instructions for resolving the offenses and avoiding possible arrest
during the holiday season. If information on the lists is not accurate,
individuals are asked to provide documentation that could resolve the
warrant.
Arlington Municipal Court is located at 200 W. Abram St. and has
jurisdiction over Class C misdemeanor citations. They are also responsible
for collecting court fees and fines, maintaining all records of the court
and setting trial dockets.
The hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9
a.m. to Noon Saturday. Municipal Court will be closed November 24, 25 and 26
for the Thanksgiving holiday.
More information is available by calling 817-459-6990 Monday through Friday
from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. E-mail communication can be sent to
court@ci.arlington.tx.us . The
City of Arlington advises callers that phone lines may be busier during the
first part of the week.
