Arlington vs. Plano
Friendly Holiday Competition to Raise Toys and Books for Young
Hospital Patients
November 17, 2005
Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck has accepted a challenge that will benefit
the youngest patients at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and
Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
At 8:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, at Cook Children’s Medical Center,
Arlington will challenge Plano in a friendly competition to determine who
will collect the most toys and books during the Starbucks Annual Holiday
Angels Joy Drive. Plano Mayor Pro-Tem Ken Lambert will join Mayor Cluck
during the Joy Drive Kick-Off Event in the First Floor Atrium at Cook
Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
If the City of Arlington wins, Mayor Cluck will ride in a hot air balloon

loses, Arlington will donate its Ameriquest Field suite to Plano during a
Texas Rangers Game next season. Starbucks will donate $500 to the winning
city’s charity of choice and provide free coffee during City Council
