City Offers Free Sand Bags to Business Owners and Residents

The City of Arlington is helping business owners and residents safeguard their properties from potential flooding. 

Starting today, the Street Division is distributing free sandbags to Arlington homeowners and businesses. Sand bags can help minimize flooding in low-lying areas. The Street Division is located at 1011 W. Main St. in Arlington.

How to Get Free Sand Bags

n       Arrive at the Street Division at 1011 W. Main St.

n       Register at the Front Office

n       Show proof of Arlington residency such as a driver’s license or water bill

Supplies are limited. Homeowners will be issued 25 sand bags per household. Businesses will each be issued 50 sand bags. Street Division staff members are available to help with loading. The public is reminded to properly dispose of sand bags when they are no longer needed. 

When to Get Free Sand Bags

n       Thursday, September 22 - 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

n       Friday, September 23 - 7:30  a.m. – 8 p.m.

n       Saturday, September 24 – 7:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. or until severe weather ends
