Bad Königshofen Flag is Raised at City Hall In Recognition of 54 Years of Friendship

A German flag is flying high in Arlington, in recognition of one of the longest Sister City relationships in the state.

Saturday, September 17, will mark the 54^th anniversary of the Sister City relationship between Arlington and Bad Königshofen, which is located in the northern part of the German state of Bavaria just east of Frankfurt/Main.

It was September 17, 1951, when the City of Arlington and the Chamber of Commerce adopted Bad Königshofen, and a letter confirming that decision was signed by then Arlington Mayor Tom Vandergriff and mailed to Kaspar Lurz, the town’s mayor.
