The Arlington Housing Authority is processing vouchers for current Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program participants who have relocated to Arlington from the areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina. 

Current program participants should go to the City of Arlington Housing Authority Office located at 501 W. Sanford, Suite 20 to transfer their Housing Voucher to Arlington. Program participants should bring documentation of voucher participation, if possible. The Arlington Housing Authority will coordinate with HUD and their initial public housing agency to transfer their Housing Voucher assistance to Arlington. The Housing Choice Voucher program is a rental assistance program funded by the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development.

At this time, the Arlington Housing Authority has received more than 1,500 applications from households affected by Hurricane Katrina that need rental assistance but are not former voucher program participants. The City of Arlington has requested additional housing voucher assistance for displaced disaster victims and is awaiting a determination of its request for additional funding from HUD headquarters.
