Arlington Needs Medical Professionals for Hurricane Katrina Evacuees
Volunteer Doctors, Nurses, Dentist and Other Care Providers are Needed!

The Arlington Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to provide shelter, food and medical assistance to Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Arlington. Officials are reporting the number of evacuees to be 1,300.

According to Arlington EOC Command staff, efforts will continue to address the needs of Hurricane victims until all evacuees have been helped.

Currently, the city is deploying medical resources to Elzie Odom Recreation Center and other facilities to work with the evacuees medical needs.

There is an urgent need for the following specialists:

  • Pediatricians
  • Family Counseling
  • Crisis Management Counselors
  • HIV Specialist
  • Endocrinologist
  • General Medicine
  • Dentist
  • Optometrist
  • OB-GYN
