District 3 City Councilmember Wayne Ogle Announces May 17 Resignation by Cheryel Carpenter City Council member Wayne Ogle announced today his plans to resign a week early. His term as the District 3 representative on the Arlington City Council was to end May 24. Ogle will resign Tuesday, May 17. His resignation makes it possible for him to be sworn in on Thursday, May 19 for his new seat on the Arlington Independent School District Board of Trustees. He won the Place 7 seat on May 7. "A graduating student is the most important accomplishment a school district can have, and I want to be on hand to congratulate the students and families," Ogle said Monday. Since 1995, Ogle has represented district 3 on the City Council, which includes the portion of Arlington bounded by Matlock Road on the west, Pioneer Parkway on the north and State Highway 360 on the east. District 3 includes a portion of the I-20 business corridor, the Arlington Municipal Airport, Tarrant County College and the Southeast Branch Library. In unofficial results, Robert Rivera won the District 3 seat on the City Council. He will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 24.
