The Third Annual Health and Wellness Expo for seniors is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 22 at the Eunice Street Senior Center, 1000 Eunice St. The free event, sponsored by the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, highlights a variety of programs and services tailored to the senior lifestyle.

"Our annual Health and Wellness Expo is designed to increase awareness about important senior health related issues," said Program Coordinator Theresa Cohagen.

Participants can learn about spinal and bone density screenings, colonoscopy, and blood pressure. Some health screenings and tests may require a small fee.

Seniors will also be able to participate in free yoga and pilates demonstrations. Vendors will include Mary Kay Cosmetics and Homemade Gourmet Foods. Organizers say last year’s event drew about 300 seniors to the center.

The event is also an opportunity for the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department to showcase many of its programs and services designed for senior residents age 55 and older. Self-guided tours of the Senior Recreation Center will be available, along with information about computer classes and other daily programs and activities.
