Here’s what is planned at the library in January:

Family Fun Saturdays at the East Arlington Branch Library

This program is fun for the entire family every Saturday at 2:30 pm. For more information, call 817-275-3321.

  • January 8 – Bilingual Spanish/English story time and craft
  • January 15 – Positively Penguins story time and craft
  • January 22 – Winnie the Pooh Celebration
  • January 29 – Scrap booking for the Family

The Northeast Reading Group – Every Second Thursday

Join lively discussions every second Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Northeast Branch Library. For more information, call 817-277-5573.

  • January 13 – The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
  • February 10 – Bondswoman’s Narrative by Hannah Crafts
  • March 10 – Brownsville: Stories by Oscar Casares

This author will make two visits: 6 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Barnes and Noble located at 3909 S. Cooper St. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at the Arlington Municipal Building at 101 W. Abram St.

Kids Series Computer Classes: New Year’s Resolutions

Children ages 7 to 12 will use Microsoft Publisher to create a mini-poster of their New Year’s resolutions, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Central Library Computer Training Center. Registration is limited to 10 students. Call 817-459-6900, option 4, option 2 to register.

Scrapbooking

Children ages 7 to 12 learn the basics of scrapbooking and create their own mini-scrapbooks. Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, certificates, postcards and other creative items. Registration is required and seating is limited to 30.
