The Arlington Police Department and the Administrative Services Department have produced a public safety announcement about the do’s and don’ts of holiday shopping.

Sgt. David Stevens, supervisor of the Community Services Unit, said the announcement was developed to show just how easy it is to become a victim during the holiday shopping season.

In the one-minute video, the shopper is so caught up in her tasks that she ignores every crime prevention tip in the book, Stevens said.

"She was even oblivious to the police officer who was following her around to correct her mistakes," he said.

The Holiday Shopping Safety PSA is being broadcast on City 5, the City’s cable channel. The PSA is also being broadcast on Arlington Cable Channel 16.
