City Manager Chuck Kiefer announced his resignation today.

Kiefer, who has been with the City for 26 years, said that he has enjoyed the challenges he has faced as City Manager, but the time is right for a change.

"I have been considering a transition for the last several months," Kiefer said. "With the end of the calendar year and the completion of several large projects, like negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys, January seemed like an appropriate time."

Kiefer has served as an Administrative Assistant, Assistant to the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and Deputy City Manager since beginning his career in Arlington in 1978.
