817-459-6404 A Call for Entries! The Fourth Annual Arlington Essay Contest starts October 18. The contest is open to public and private school students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 who reside within the city limits of Arlington. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The top three winners in each grade level will receive Series EE U.S. Savings Bonds. First place winners will receive a $500 bond, second place winners will receive a $350 bond and third place winners will receive a $150 bond. Winners will also be recognized at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 14 during the Regular Meeting of the Arlington City Council. This year’s essay topic was designed around the City of Arlington and PAWS 2005 efforts to raise funds to construct and sustain a new Animal Services Center. Students are invited to write an essay on the following topic related to the design and features of a new Animal Services Center: If you were asked to design a new animal shelter:

Entries may also be hand-delivered to the Water Customer Service Desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 101 W. Abram St. or to the Water Utilities South Service Center at 1100 S.W.
