City of Arlington Seeks Bilingual Election Clerks

The City of Arlington needs bilingual election clerks to assist Spanish and Vietnamese speaking voters at polling places during the upcoming election.

Bilingual election clerks will work under the supervision of an election judge or lead clerk and must be registered to vote in Tarrant County.

Bilingual election clerks will work polling places during Early Voting and on Election Day. Early Voting is Oct. 18-29. There are six Early Voting polling locations. There are 68 Election Day polling locations. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2.

According to City Secretary Barbara Heptig, bilingual election clerks will earn $7.50 per hour.

"This is a great opportunity to earn extra cash and assist Arlington voters whose first language is not English," Heptig said.

For more information about becoming an election clerk, call the City Secretary’s Office at 817-459-6186 or go to www.ci.arlington.tx.us/citysecretary.
