City Council to Observe Anniversary of the U.S. Constitution September 17-23 is Constitution Week

The Arlington City Council will observe the 217^th anniversary of the drafting of the United States Constitution.

Mayor Robert Cluck will issue a proclamation at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 in Council Chamber during the Regular Meeting of the Arlington City Council. Council Chamber is located 101 W. Abram St.

Accepting the proclamation will be members of the Lucretia Council Cochran Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Following the presentation, General Motors employee Wilbur Smith will perform the National Anthem.

The Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 as a volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to patriotism, historic preservation and education. There are more than 170,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the U.S. and internationally.
