Independence Day Closings
Schedule of Municipal Services and Programs

The Arlington Municipal Building, Municipal Office Tower and many other local government offices will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day. Municipal government offices and city services will resume regular hours on Tuesday, July 6.

What’s Closed Sunday, July 4 for Independence Day

  • George W. Hawkes Central Library and all branch libraries
  • Dottie Lynn Recreation Center
  • Meadowbrook Recreation Center
  • Hugh Smith Recreation Center
  • Cliff Nelson Recreation Center
  • Bob Duncan Community Center
  • Senior Recreation Center – Eunice
  • Senior Recreation Center – New York
  • Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
  • All municipal pools will close at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 4.
  • Elzie Odom Recreation Center will open at noon and close early at 6 p.m.

  • George W. Hawkes Central Library and all branch libraries
  • Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office
  • Senior Recreation Center – Eunice
  • Senior Recreation Center – New York
  • Bob Duncan Community Center
  • Handitran office and special transportation services
  • There will be no garbage and recycling pickups

  • All municipal golf courses
  • All municipal recreation centers
  • Arlington Tennis Center
  • Lake Arlington office
  • All municipal outdoor pools
  • Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
