Power Outages Continue in the City of Arlington
Officials Working to Provide Shelter for Elderly and Disabled

TXU and Oncor report that several areas of the city are still without electricity and outages may continue for up to 48 hours in some locations.

The following general areas are without power:

  • Between Pioneer Parkway (303) south to I-20, and east of Bowen Road to Perkins Road
  • North and south of Park Row between Shady Valley and Davis Dr.
  • South of I-20 to US 287, extending east of Calender Road to Little Road
  • South of US 287, between Sublett Road and the eastern city limits
  • South and north of Green Oaks Blvd., between Collins and the eastern city limits

Elderly and disabled residents who have lost power may seek temporary assistance at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church, located at 303 Pecan St. City officials have plans to open additional facilities should additional damage from severe weather continue tonight. Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Bill Gilmore stated that Meadowbrook and Dottie Lynn recreation centers could be opened at the direction of the City’s Emergency Operations Center.
