Obtaining Arlington City Election Results on Saturday, May 15

The results of the May 15 City Election will be posted on the City’s web site at www.ci.arlington.tx.us. From the home page, click on City Election Results. A summary of election results by polling location will also be provided on the web site. The results will be faxed to the news media between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, May 15, and posted on Access Arlington on City Cable Channel 5.

Beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck is scheduled to announce the results during a live broadcast on the City’s cable channel.

If you are with the news media and require special arrangements on election night, call Cheryel Carpenter at 817-459-6404 or 817-832-3470 by 3 p.m. Friday, May 14.

Votes will be canvassed or officially certified on Tuesday, May 25, and the oath of office administered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1. In the event of a runoff, that election would occur on Saturday, June 19.

… About the Arlington City Election

In the Municipal Election, voters will be electing four City Council members to represent Districts 1, 2, 6 and 7.

The District 1 City Council member is a single-member district representative elected by voters in far north Arlington. The District 2 City Council member is a single-member district representative elected by voters in southwest Arlington. Districts 6 and 7 are at-large districts elected by all Arlington voters.

In Arlington, there are approximately 180,000 registered voters. In the last City Election held in May 2003, city records show that 16,786 Arlington residents voted.
