The City of Arlington will observe Arbor Day on Wednesday, April 14.

Beginning at 12:30 p.m., residents are invited to join the celebration in the Elm Grove area of River Legacy Park in north Arlington. According to event coordinator Stacy Baldwin, the program is designed to help residents learn more about their environment.

The event will include the Region VI Environmental Protection Agency and approximately 100 students from Blanton Elementary School who will each receive small Bur Oak trees and an Arbor Day T-shirt.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Texas Forest Service will present the City of Arlington with the Tree City USA Award during the Arbor Day celebration.
