Construction will begin Monday, Feb. 2 on the south end of Baird Farm Road between Lamar Boulevard and Wet N’ Wild Way in north Arlington.

Project Engineer Crystal Owens said this section of Baird Farm Road will be widened to include a center turn lane. The project also includes storm drainage improvements and the construction of a bike lane. This south end portion of Baird Farm Road is approximately 1,150 feet. Construction is estimated to be completed in about 60 days.

Voters authorized funding for the Baird Farm Road improvement project in a 1999 Streets Bond Election. After the south portion of the project is complete, construction will start on the north end of Baird Farm Road from Lamar Boulevard to Brown Boulevard and Brookhollow Plaza Drive from Baird Farm Road to Ballpark Way.

Although the north end of Baird Farm Road will remain open during the first phase of construction, the south end of Baird Farm Road from Lamar Boulevard to Wet N’ Wild Way will be closed.

Detour signs will direct traffic to businesses located in this area. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution around the construction area. Alternate north and south routes are Collins Street and Ballpark Way.
