How can Arlington public libraries improve programs and services in a multicultural environment? That is the question library officials will be discussing during a public forum on Monday, Dec. 8.

The forum will begin at 7 p.m. at the new Southeast Branch Library, which is located at 900 Green Oaks Blvd. in south Arlington.

"During the forum, the public can give us input on how we can provide better services, especially in the areas of collection development and educational programming," said forum organizer Chris Brown, who is the City’s administrator of branch services.

José Ruiz-Alvarez, president-elect of the National Association to Promote Library Services to the Spanish-Speaking, will lead discussions. Ruiz-Alvarez is also a librarian at the Southeast Branch Library. Other topics will focus on the library’s international languages collection and multi-cultural programming. The public will also get a tour of the new Southeast Branch Library, which opened October 24.
