City Council Members Host Town Hall Meetings About City Operating Budget

In August, five Arlington City Council Members will host town hall meetings about the proposed 2003-04 General Fund operating budget.

City Manager Chuck Kiefer is scheduled to present the proposed budget to the City Council at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, during the Afternoon Work Session. The meeting will be broadcast live on CITY 5 and replayed during the week. Arlington residents can view the proposed budget on the City’s website at www.ci.arlington.tx.us. Upcoming meetings on the budget:

6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center

District 4 Council Member Kathryn Wilemon represents the portion of the city bounded primarily by I-20 on the south, portions of Matlock Road, Fielder Road and Bowen Road on the east, Lake Arlington on the west, and I-30 on the northeast. The Dottie Lynn Recreation Center is located at 3200 Norwood Lane.

7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Arlington Municipal Airport

District 3 Council Member Wayne Ogle represents the portion of the city bounded primarily by Matlock Road on the west, Pioneer Parkway on the north and SH 360 on the east. The Arlington Municipal Airport is located at 5000 S. Collins St.

6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Northeast Branch Library

District 1 Council Member Joe Bruner represents the portion of the city bounded by Division Street on the south and the city limits on the north. The Northeast Branch Library is located at 1905 E. Brown Blvd.

6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, in the Council Briefing Room – Third Floor of City Hall

District 5 Council Member Lana Wolff represents the portion of the city bounded by Great Southwest Parkway and the city limits on the east, Pioneer Parkway on the south, Bowen Road on the west, and Division Street on the north. The meeting will occur on the third floor of City Hall at 101 W. Abram St.

7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Water Utilities South Service Center

District 2 Council Member Bill McFadin represents the portion of the city bounded primarily by I-20 on the north and Matlock Road on the east. The Water Utilities South Service Center is located at 1100 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd.
