Felines, canines, aquatic, or feathered – All pets are welcome at the sixth annual PetPallooza on Saturday, May 31 at River Legacy Parks located at NW Green Oaks Boulevard at North Cooper Street in Arlington. This one-day event, sponsored by the Star-Telegram, Moritz Cadillac-BMW-Mini and Petco, promotes the special bond between pets, their people and responsible pet ownership. PetPallooza’s hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the One-Mile Fun Walk beginning at 9 a.m.

PetPallooza offers a variety of fun for pets and their owners including pet contests, the pet psychic, pet photos and caricatures and entertainment by local dog clubs specializing in flyball and agility. This year, part of the touring Animal Planet Expo will make its only DFW appearance at PetPallooza. Dr. Robert Taylor from the popular show Emergency Vets will be on hand to discuss proper pet care. The expo is also bringing an inflatable bungee run for kids, Lucy the Cat and Dudley the Dog.

The Humane Society of North Texas will offer low-cost vaccinations and pets can be adopted through the on-site Adoption Center. Pet owners will be given information on the topics of safety, health care, positive obedience and responsible pet ownership. The children’s area includes animal-themed activities and games. Other pet and family-oriented products and services along with food concessions will be available at the festival.

Raffle drawings will be held each hour at PetPallooza and all attendees can participate in the raffle with $1 or $5 chances to win prizes, including vet check-ups for cats or dogs, tickets to Six Flags, pet training, pet accessories and more!
