New Hours at the Arlington Municipal Court by Cheryel Carpenter Beginning Monday, April 14, Arlington Municipal Court will no longer operate eleven hours a day Monday through Friday. The new hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. New court walk-ins hours to the see the judge by appointment only are 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The changes are a result of a city revenue shortfall. Court Administrator Winnie Kocot said customer service hours were impacted by the elimination of two full-time staff positions and a part-time position. After September 1, a new computer system is scheduled to go online, which will accept payments via the website 24 hours a day. Payments will also be accepted via the telephone through an interactive voice response system. Fines can be mailed to Mail Stop 02-0100, P.O. Box 90403, Arlington, Texas 76004-3403. If the case is not in warrant status, payment can be made by cash, cashier’s check, money order or personal check. If there is an active arrest warrant, only cash, a cashier’s check or money order will be accepted. A drop box is also available conveniently located in the Municipal Court Lobby. Arlington Municipal Court is located at 200 W. Abram St. in downtown Arlington. The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C misdemeanor citations and is responsible for maintaining all records of the court, setting trial dockets, collect court fees, fines and taxes.
