North Cooper Street between Division Street and Randol Mill Road will be closed Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19, for construction.

Project engineer Martin Phillips said this section of North Cooper Street will be closed at 7 a.m. Friday, April 18. It is expected to reopen by 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19. Traffic at the intersections of Division Street and Randol Mill Road will not be affected by the closure.

Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes such as Fielder, Davis, Mesquite, Center or Collins.

This closure is associated with the $9.4 million North Cooper Street Improvement Project. North Cooper Street between Interstate 30 and Abram Street is being widened to six lanes. The project also includes landscaping, street lighting and utility upgrades. The target completion date is September 2003.
