The east and westbound lanes of Interstate 30 at the NW 19th Street bridge in Grand Prairie will close at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 29. Traffic delays and detours could impact Arlington motorists.

According to Information Specialist Darien Goode with the Dallas District of the Texas Department of Transportation, a contractor will be demolishing the northbound section of the bridge at NW 19th Street.

The I-30 east and westbound lanes are expected to re-open by noon Sunday, March 30.

Electronic message boards have been posted along both sides of the interstate. I-30 motorists will have detours and should expect delays. TxDOT officials say $35 million in improvements in this area will widen I-30 from six to 10 lanes between the Tarrant County line and NW 7th Street. The state project also includes the construction of an interchange and a noise wall. The anticipated completion date is August 2006.
