Survey Seeks Community Input About Arlington’s 2025 Vision by Cheryel Carpenter The process to "Build the Vision" for Arlington’s future has begun. In the past few weeks, ten stakeholder groups representing approximately 100 organizations in the City, developed a draft list of goals for a 2025 Vision. The essence of these draft goals has been put into an opinion survey that is being mailed to 2,500 Arlington households. Recipients of the survey are encouraged to take the few minutes to complete and return the survey. All written responses will be tabulated and recorded. Residents not receiving a survey, but wishing to express their opinion on the drafted goals are encouraged to complete an online survey. The survey can be accessed on the www.arlingtonforums.net web page under the link "Arlington 2025 Visioning Website." Visitors to the website can also take part in an online discussion about the various issues facing Arlington’s future by accessing the "Arlington 2025 Discussion Forums" link. This work and community input will lay the groundwork for the development of the Arlington 2025 Comprehensive Plan. "It is very important for the community to work together and help establish a supportable 2025 vision for the City of Arlington" said Chief Planner John Taylor. "We encourage residents to take the time to complete and return the mailed survey or go online to express opinions about what Arlington should be in 2025." The deadline for returning the survey or participating in the online survey is Tuesday, April 1. |
