The 80th Birthday Celebration Continues … At the Arlington Public Library in March by
Cheryel Carpenter March 1 – The Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration Professional Entertainer Cinde Sanders is the Cat in the Hat’s sister in this magical presentation of Seussology 101. This event is especially for children ages 5 through 10. This event will occur at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Southwest Arlington Branch Library. Registration is required. March 6 - The Guide to Journal Writing A Tarrant County associate professor of English leads this guided journey to learning creative ways to keeping your memories on paper. This program will occur at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Northeast Branch Library and will be led by Dr. Miriam Kalman Harris. It is open to all middle and high school students in grades seven though twelve. Refreshments will be provided. March 10 – Author Jim Trelease Inspires Reading Aloud Best-selling Author Jim Trelease will present "Reading Aloud: Motivating Children to Make Books into Friends, Not Enemies." The program will occur at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the First United Methodist Church at 313 N. Center St. Trelease is the author of The New York Times bestseller, The Read Aloud Handbook. His anecdotal style is inspirational, informative and funny. This free program is for parents, teachers, and librarians. March 20 - Radio Disney Promotes Reading Radio Disney Host Jay Jensen reads to preschoolers from 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, March 20, at the Central Library, which is located at 101 E. Abram.
