The City of Arlington Public Library System welcomes Texas State Library and Archives Commission Director Peggy Rudd.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, Rudd will present a workshop "Documenting the Difference: Demonstrating the Value of Libraries through Outcome Measurement." The workshop is especially for area librarians. It will be held at the East Arlington Branch Library, 1624 New York Ave.

Librarians from throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, including Arlington, Euless, Dallas, Mansfield, Bedford, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Burleson, Watauga, Benbrook, Haltom City, Denton, Lewisville, Keller, and Southlake are expected to attend the workshop.

According to Arlington Public Library Director Rick Smith, having the state librarian in the city is an important occasion.

"By using outcome-based evaluation, libraries are able to strengthen existing services and better project needs for new or expanded services," Smith said.

This workshop is made possible by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the North Texas Regional Library System, and the Arlington Public Library.
