City of Arlington Assistant City Attorney Ivan Bland has been designated a Local Government Fellow, becoming one of a select number of individuals in the United States and Canada to be recognized as a specialist in the field of local government law. The designation was conferred on October 21 during a special awards ceremony at the International Municipal Lawyers Association annual conference in Denver, Colo.

The Local Government Fellows Program is administered by IMLA and its criteria combines peer review, education and involvement in the practice of local government law with examination and recertification.
