The City of Arlington’s Chief Financial Officer Janice Larned has submitted her resignation and has accepted the position of chief financial planning officer for the County of Sarasota, Fla.

Larned joined the City in March of this year after two years as vice president of corporate finance for Faultless Starch in Kansas City, Mo. Prior to her employment with Faultless, Larned was chief financial officer for the City of Kansas City.

"It has been a very positive experience working in Arlington, and I appreciate my time here," Larned said. "The job with Sarasota County is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I accepted after careful, deliberate consideration."

Larned’s resignation will be effective October 2. At that time, the City’s Controller Donna Swarb will be the interim CFO.
