Parks Department Announces Citywide Photo Contest
Entry Deadline is August 30

The City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department announces its citywide photography contest.

Images must be of activities occurring in an Arlington park, recreation facility, golf course, tennis center, lake or pool.

Arlington residents have an opportunity to win cash and gift certificates from a Southern Flair Photography. There are two entry categories: Youth ages 17 and under and adults ages 18 and older.

Entries will be judged on the photographer’s ability to best capture the theme of the contest: Celebrating the Freedom to Play. Entries will also be judged on layout, composition and image quality. There is no cost to enter.

All contest entries must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at 717 W. Main St. Winners will be announced Sunday, Sept 15, 2002.

Winning photos will be on display at the Parks Mall at Arlington and the Arlington Museum of Art. The grand prize photograph will grace the cover of the next Parks Open Space Master Plan.
