The Arlington Fire Department will honor the September 11 heroes with a traditional arch created from two 75-foot ladders high above downtown Arlington.

The arch will go up at 7:30 a.m. on Oak Street at Abram Street for the 37th Annual Arlington Independence Day Parade in downtown Arlington. It is scheduled to be in place throughout the parade.

"The arch honors those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. It should stand about five stories tall," said Lt. Randy Ingram of the Arlington Fire Department.

"The parade theme, United We Stand, Together We Serve, is all about American heroes, and we are glad to do our part to honor them," said Ingram.
