The Mayor and City Council will proclaim Tuesday, June 4, Edwin "Bubba" Schafer Day in the City of Arlington.

The proclamation will be issued at 6:30 p.m. today during the Evening Meeting of the Arlington City Council at 101 W. Abram St.

On Friday, May 24, Schafer detained and assisted Arlington police officers in the apprehension of a man suspected in sexual assault crimes in Burleson and Cleburne.

The proclamation recognizes Schafer for "extraordinary bravery and demonstrating a concern for the well being of his neighborhood and community."
