Dinosaurs At The Library!
by Cheryel Carpenter A dinosaur exhibit on loan from the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is on display at the George W. Hawkes Central Library through May 30. The library is located at 101 E. Abram St. in downtown Arlington. The exhibit is located in the foyer of the Central Library and features pieces from the Lone Star Dinosaurs exhibit, which is based on Dr. Louis Jacobs' book of the same name. It includes Texas dinosaur fossils and Karen Carr's dinosaur artwork. At 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, the Central Library will present a slide show and discussion session in the Community Room. Dr. Jacobs is president of the Institute for the Study of Earth and Man and a professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at Southern Methodist University. His slide show and lecture focuses on his work with the dinosaurs found in Texas and around the world. Carr is a wildlife and natural history artist whose paintings and drawings depict how dinosaurs looked in life and how the Texas landscape looked about 100 million years ago.
