Arlington Pet Adoptathon 2002 is May 4
by Cheryel Carpenter On Saturday, May 4, the City of Arlington Animal Services Division and the North Central Texas Animal Shelter Coalition will sponsor Pet Adoptathon 2002. The annual event promotes the adoption of homeless animals. In 2001, more than 2,000 animal shelters in 28 countries throughout the world participated. Since the event began in 1995, more than 100,000 animals have been adopted. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Arlington Animal Services Center will offer pet adoptions, educational information and a low cost rabies clinic for the first 150 animals brought to the event. Free rabies vaccinations will be available for all animals adopted at the shelter. The event will also include a variety of children’s activities including face painting, the "Poop-n-Scoop Game" and a special appearance from Bowser Bob, the Animal Services mascot. The Arlington Animal Services Center is located at 5920 W. Pioneer Parkway. For more information about Pet Adoptathon 2002, call
