City Hires New CFO by Cheryel Carpenter City Manager Chuck Kiefer announced today the hiring of Janice Larned as the City’s new chief financial officer. For the past two years, Larned has been the vice president of corporate finance for Faultless Starch in Kansas City, MO. Prior to her employment with Faultless, Larned was the chief financial officer for the City of Kansas City for five years. She will be replacing Roger Kearns who retired in January after 16 years. "Janice has extensive experience working with the fiscal and budgetary challenges of both a large city and corporation," Kiefer said. Arlington’s CFO has overall management responsibility for the various financial operations of the City. These include accounting, tax collection, the City’s operating budget, purchasing, debt and cash management and municipal court operations. "I am very pleased to be joining such a professional, nationally recognized organization," Larned said. At the City of Kansas City, she managed an $881 million budget and a $900 million debt program. Before being named Kansas City’s CFO, Larned was the City Treasurer for six years. Prior to joining Kansas City, she was the assistant vice president of Wells Fargo Bank in Walnut Creek, CA, and vice president of Colorado National Bank in Colorado Springs, CO. Larned earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wichita State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri. She will assume her new post on March 4 and her annual salary will be $120,000. |
