Arlington Establishes State’s First Asian Citizens Police Academy

The Arlington Police Department is organizing Texas’ first Asian Citizens Police Academy. The academy is eight weeks of course instruction designed to build positive relationships between police officers and the community they serve.

The Asian Citizens Police Academy will meet on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning March 2 at the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Building at 620 W. Division St. All other classes will be held at the East Police Service Center on New York Avenue. There is no charge to enroll.

The registration deadline is Feb. 14. Call Officer Hugh Trinh at 817-459-1976 or complete an application at the Arlington Asian Police Storefront, which is located at 2216 New York Ave., Suite 204.
