Curbside Tree Recycling Begins Wednesday, Jan. 9 by Cheryel Carpenter The City of Arlington Curbside Tree Recycling Program begins Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002. Trees will be collected at curbside on Wednesday, Jan. 9 for Arlington residents who live north of Park Row Drive. On Thursday, Jan. 10, trees will be collected from residents who live south of Interstate 20. Arlington residents who reside between Park Row and Interstate 20 will have their trees collected on Friday, Jan. 11. Calloway’s Nursery at 4940 S. Cooper St and 900 Lincoln Square Circle will accept Christmas trees from Arlington residents who wish to recycle prior to the curbside collection dates. Last year, the City of Arlington collected nearly 200 tons of Christmas trees. How to Recycle Your Christmas Tree 1. Remove all lights, ornaments and tree stands especially wooden stands with nails. 2. Do not place trees in plastic bags. 3. Flocked trees are acceptable. 4. Separate your tree from your regular garbage. 5. Trees will be collected by a separate truck after garbage is collected.
