City Announces Availability of the Sector Planning Compact Disc

The City of Arlington Department of Planning and Development Services announces the availability of its new Sector Planning CD.

Over the past six years, citizens have worked with City staff to develop comprehensive plans for each area of the city. These six sector plans were originally published in a bound book and loaded with background information on each area of the City. The information included an overview of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints specifically for that area. It also includes the adopted actions that address issues identified by citizens.

According to Chief Planner John Taylor, "if these plans had a downside, it was the cost of their production. Each plan had to be sold for $20 to recover printing costs."

To address this concern and to commemorate the completion of the last sector plan, a computer CD was produced that contains the six sector plans with updated implementation plans for each. This CD is now available for $5 each.

The Sector Planning CD is part of a CD information series, which includes the popular Arlington Atlas CD and is part of the department’s commitment to providing current city information at reasonable costs. Both CD's are available for $5 dollars each at the Development Services Desk on the second floor of City Hall, 101 W. Abram St., or by calling 817-459-6526.
