Have your children ever met a mayor? Have they ever visited City Hall? While most schools are dismissed for the winter break, Arlington Mayor Elzie Odom will host "Holiday Visits With the Mayor" at the Arlington Municipal Building, 101 W. Abram St.

On Dec. 19, 20 and 21, Arlington students are invited to visit the Office of the Mayor and Council at City Hall and tour the Council Chamber, where important decisions about the City are discussed and voted on during the year. Student visitors are also invited to study the Mayor’s Hall, a pictorial history of Arlington mayors past and present.

Mayor Odom will be available to meet and greet visitors of all ages and will provide educational materials and holiday refreshments. Reservations are not required. Cameras are allowed. Students are also asked to bring a canned good to be donated to an Arlington charity.
