The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the addition of Ace Acorn.

The new department mascot will make public appearances at City events and promote fun and safety at Arlington parks and recreational activities. The first public appearance will occur on Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Splash Back in Time swim party at Randol Mill Pool.

"We are very excited to introduce our first department mascot," said Parks Marketing Manager Michelle Rice. "Ace Acorn will go into the community, spreading fun and excitement about our parks and recreation programs."

Ace joins the rank of other City department mascots including the Police Department’s McGruff the Crime Dog, Animal Service’s Bowser Bob, 9-1-1’s Red E. Fox and the Fire Department’s Sparky the Fire Dog.
