GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Two-Year Work Plan 2008-2009

Priority Goal 1

Enable the Landmark Preservation Commission to achieve its mission.

bullet Fulfill LPC obligations to the City of Arlington and improve communications with the City in order to more effectively fulfill its role.
bullet Minimize or eliminate barriers to citizen support of landmark preservation efforts.
bullet Actively recruit LPC members with general preservation experience and knowledge.
bullet Sustain an active and viable LPC during membership transitions.
bullet Maximize funds designated to preservation.
bullet Increase awareness of Arlington landmark preservation efforts at local, state and national levels.
bullet Keep LPC members informed about community preservation events and initiatives.

Priority Goal 2

Maintain the focus of Landmark Preservation Commission work to maximize benefit to the community.

bullet Define specific focus/mission for the LPC.
bullet Develop a “toolbox” for promoting the mission within the Arlington community.
bullet Strengthen relationships with key partners within the local preservation community and develop relationships with community organizations with an interest in preservation.
