The Arlington
Housing Authority is governed
by a Board of Commissioners appointed by City Council. It is
affiliated with the city through an Inter-Local Cooperative Agreement.
The AHA administers the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) Section 8 Rental Assistance Program providing rental
housing assistance to
low-income tenants in privately owned rental units.
Effective November 2, 2009
The Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) will open the Housing Choice
Voucher Program Waiting List for families affected by Hurricanes
Katrina/Rita only. The Arlington Housing Authority
received 257 additional Housing Choice Vouchers to assist persons
affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The AHA will accept
applications only from persons displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita starting November 2, 2009.
The AHA Housing Choice Voucher waiting list will temporarily
remain closed to other applicants at this time. To apply,

NAHRO Fellow
The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) awarded
David Zappasodi the prestigious honor of being named a NAHRO Fellow for his many
years of experience, mastery, and knowledge in the field of housing and
community development.

Weatherization Assistance Program

The City of Arlington has been awarded Department of Energy funds through
the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to implement a
weatherization program. The program will help income eligible households make
improvements to their homes to increase the energy efficiency and lower utility
bills.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program - 2
The City of Arlington has applied for Neighborhood Stabilization Program - 2
(NSP2) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The program is designed to address housing needs in high foreclosure/vacancy
risk areas in Arlington. The following links include the NSP2 application
submitted to HUD on July 16, 2009 and the public notice of intent to apply.

Seeking Qualified Investment Services
The Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA) is seeking qualified
professionals to provide investment services. Interested Investment Services
professionals should review the AHA Investment Policy, and submit a completed
Certification Letter and Broker Questionnaire to Amy Trevino, Financial Manager,
501 W. Sanford Street, Suite 20, Arlington TX 76011. Questions should also be

qualified professional services will remain open until further notice.

The Neighborhood Matching Grants Program gives
your neighborhood organization the opportunity to implement public projects that
will be awarded a maximum of $10,000 in City funds to be matched equally by a
private source of funds, donated funds, labor and/or in-kind contributions. For
