HOME OWNERSHIP :: ARLINGTON HOMEBUYERS' ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Description
The Arlington Homebuyer’s Assistance Program provides up to $7,500
per household (and up to $10,000 per household in a target area) for
down payment and closing cost assistance for qualified first time
homebuyers. In addition, eligible households with a family member
with a disability can receive $10,000 in assistance.
The assistance is provided as a zero percent interest, 2nd lien
loan, forgivable over time.
Criteria for Eligibility
Participants must:

Have a total
household income at the time of application that does not exceed the
HUD “low income” limit, which is 80% of Area Median Income. See the
HUD Income Limits.

Be first time homebuyers, or be relocated from a federally
declared disaster area

Have no more than
$15,000 in liquid assets

Contribute $1,000 towards the purchase
-
Intend to reside in
the home being purchased
-
Attend a HUD approved homeownership counseling course
-
Qualify for a
mortgage
