T. G. BAILEY
4/14/1904-4/12/1906

On April 5, 1904, T. G. Bailey was elected mayor of Arlington. He beat his opponent, J. P. Jones, 117-60. At the time of the election, Bailey had lived in Arlington for 15 years. He had served on the City Council for two years as an alderman from the 3rd, Ward.

The Arlington Journal described Bailey as “…a gentleman of the first order.” The newspaper added that Bailey ”… has no extravagant promises to make but proposes to meet every issue as it presents itself and do the very best he can for the city in all things.

Mr. Bailey will make a strong clean race, and if elected will make a safe and conservative mayor.” Bailey was mayor from 1904 to 1906.
