  EDWARD EMMETT RANKIN

In
1872, Edward Emmett Rankin and Edna Broiles Rankin were
encouraged to move to Arlington by Dr. Willie Stokely Broiles.
Eventually Mr. Rankin joined Mr. Randall in the operation of a
hardware store located in the 100 block of East Main.
Mr. Rankin continued the operation of the store until the
mid-depression when bankruptcy caused its closure.
EE Rankin served as mayor of Arlington for a very short time
in 1885. His descendents of E.E. Rankin included
Edward II, Edward III and Edward IV.
