The Vital Statistics Division of Community Services Wins Five-Star State Award
The City of Arlington, TX (pop. 332,969) Vital Statistics Division has been recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services for its performance in reporting births, deaths and other important information. The Five-Star Award is distributed to local registrar offices, including city secretaries, county clerks and county health departments, according to Deputy Local Registrar/Vital Statistic Coordinator Elbia Hernandez.
Judges critique and evaluate timeliness, customer service, application of technology, training, and accuracy of filing, Hernandez said. Arlington’s vital statistics office issues birth and death certificates, amends certificates, and records name changes and court-ordered adoptions. The office is a division of the Community Services Department.
