My waste
service contract costs the same whether I recycle or not. Why should I
participate?
Though you may be
paying for a service container whether you fill it or not, setting up a
recycling program can prepare your business for cost savings once your
contract is ready to be renegotiated. Having a recycling program in place
will let you know how much of your trash can actually be recycled. This
should put you in a better position to renegotiate at time of renewal and
save money on your waste hauling fees.
We already
recycle. Can we become a member?
Yes. If your company
already has a recycling program in place you can still become a member. We
want to acknowledge you for your commitment to the environment and to the
community.
There is no
room for a recycling container outside my building. What should I do?
Even though they can generate large volumes of
recyclable material, buildings often have limited space for recycling
containers. When contacting prospective recyclers, make sure to find out all
the options available to you. Pickups and service levels are tailored to
each individual business.
I would like some recycling bins. Can the City send
me a few bins to collect my recycling in?
The City does not have the funding to provide such bins to commercial
businesses. The green recycling bins the City does have are for residents
only. Arlington residents pay a recycling fee with their water bill. This
fee pays for the residential recycling program, but also the residential
curbside recycling bins. Businesses are responsible for providing their own
deskside and collection point recycling bins. |
