NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS:

To effectively serve our citizens, the City of Arlington Purchasing Division strives to remain on the cutting edge of purchasing initiatives and personnel training/certification. To this end, the Purchasing Division has earned the 2011 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement. 

• This is the 8th consecutive year the City has earned this notable award; of government entities, only 35 in Texas earned the award, and nationally Arlington is one of just 56 cities to accomplish this feat!
   
• To earn this award, public entities must score highly against the National Purchasing Institute's standardized criteria (innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership).
