Trash:
Out of Sight, Out of Mind?
Where does trash come from?
From all of us.
Do you know how much
effort it takes to keep our city clean? Do you know what the cost is?
You can prevent trash in our city by putting trash in its proper
place. Don't toss or dump trash in the street, keep it until you find
a trash can.
Dumping trash in
Texas is against the law, but it still gets dumped into streets,
gutters, inlets, culverts, and storm drains. This trash makes its way
into our creeks, streams, lakes and rivers. This trash not only
pollutes our waterways, but ruins their beauty. Some trash such as
six-pack holders can also be hazardous to wildlife.
